We initially saw the coyote on the main loop for Cades Cove.
As usual in Gatlinburg, once an animal makes an appearance, you
can bet there will be 10 cars stopping so people can run up and take
pictures... which usually results in the animal running away.
Luckily, the zoom I have allowed for a couple shots
before that happened.
We decided to take the primative road which branches off from the main loop.
Most of the cars usually stay on the loop, so I always like getting out of
the bumper to bumper sightseeing traffic when I can. In this pic, we were
on that road when we caught up to (I believe) the same coyote that had
been run off by all the tourists. He walked in the road, right in
front of us for about a quarter mile. Nice addition to the drive.
