It was impossible to capture just how steep the road to the
cabin was in a picture, so I snapped this pic to illustrate
our elevation. At this point, I'm a few hundred yards from the cabin
overlooking the foothills of the Smokies just before sunrise.
It took 15 minutes to cover four miles going up or down the
mountain, and had to stay in second gear almost the whole
time. While we didn't have a view quite this spectacular
from the cabin, you really did get the feeling of being
on top of a mountain and completely isolated.
