Myanmar ladies and youngsters apply the light-yellow Tanaka powder to the facial area as a sun block and cosmetic. The bark of the Tanaka tree is dried, ground by hand and applied generally to the cheeks with a combinations of water or various natural oils. During the course of day the cosmetic wears off.
