The "to Midan" part refers to a walk from the Sinan Pasha Mosque (see another gallery) to an area called Midan (along a road thast is called al-Midan). The first part contains some very fine buildings as well as shots of a large graveyard. Then you enter the Midan proper, an area that may well be swinging when the restaurants start their business. Here also there are many fine buildings, mostly mosques or mausoleums. Midan (field) was an exercise field (Midan al-Khasa) and later served as a place to congregate pilgrim caravans that were about to depart for Mecca. Due to this association it became a favorite burial zone. In 2021 I used Corona lock-down time to better identify many objects, giving them sub-galleries using gps and other sources. You can find some using the map view.
