These pictures were taken at Al-Bara, a city that is to a great extent hidden amidst all sorts of vegetation. It is quite large. Highlights are some churches and a couple of pyramid tombs, but many, many big buildings are standing part-hidden in the surrounding hills.
The first set of pictures I took were of what is described as 5 churches. Moving in and out of the several halls I lost track so I do not really know if I have visited them all. They are set so much together that it feels like moving in and out of chapels of one big building. I hope in due course someone who knows the terrain precisely can add to this scant information. They sit on a hilltop at the end of a road with some fine views of the surrounding country (containing much of the city).
