Lower part of a niche - Damascus Museum inv. 5312 h. 99 cm. w. 92 cm. found in the Temple of Rab's Asire near Agora - 2nd - 3rd century AD
Fragment of a monolithic niche with a cuirassed God (Ares-Mars) armed with a spear and holding two lions in leash. An eagle is pearching on each lion. On the plinth, a bust of helmeted God, Malakbel, is depicted between two griffings and trees. The frame is decorated with pseudo.vine scrolls.
