Fragment of the statue of a general- 2nd/3rd century AD
Fragment of a statue of a Roman commander or divinity, consisting in the lower part of his muscled cuirass (thorax, statos) of Greco-Roman typology, worn over a subarmalis (under-cuirass garment) fitted with protective stripes (Pteryges) . The presence of a tunic under the crenellated border (cymation) of the armour shows a strong eastern influence, as well as the atypical of ornamentation of the cuirass.
