Kyzikos (in the Wikipedia I found it spelled Cyzicus also) was allegedly founded in 756 BC from Miletus. I tried visiting it, but it was pretty hard to find. I expected a gate and a fenced site, instead, after some tries, people told me to walk a small dirt road and there found all that remained of the Temple of Zeus, that lay in ruins. Even these ruins were the remains of a restoration under emperor Hadrian (76-138 AD). So first some pictures of that spot.
