Ankara 2006 09 0405.jpg

I was too tired (and late) to pay it a visit, but there is a building which seems dedicated to Atatürk and the struggles of the Turkish people after WW I. In its front is a monument, on one side the usual people marching towards glory, on the other side a representation of some (named, it seems) people casting shells for artillery.

This is the building.

The building is the Confederation of Artisans and Artists, an NGO. There happens to be an exhibition of the photos of Atatürk at the arts gallery on the ground floor, that's all. The sculpture probably describes the efforts of artisans during WWI and the ensuing War of Independence.
