This “charger with foliate rim” is from 1480, 43 cm. in diameter. It’s style is called “Baba Nakkaş”.

It parallels early 15th-century Chinese dish. That is, the back-side has a Chinese peony scroll, the inside is entirely Ottoman with arabesque scrollwork on the rim and in the center, a “lozenge panels” in the cavetto. Text from “Iznik”; by Atasoy and Raby, Alexandria Press, London.
