This is the first of two bridges spanning the Bosporus. It was finished in 1973 and is 1074 meters long, the roadway is 64 meters above the water. The mosque at its foot is the Ortaköy Mosque, built in 1854 for Abdül Mecit by Nikoğos Balyan, who also built the Dolmabahçe mosque and palace. The mosque is nice inside too.
