This is the "village with a dog". The story is, that on my first trip I was stopped by a dog that did his utmost best to warn me off the grounds. Now, I am not afraid of barking dogs, and kind of like them, so I spoke some kind words and then shared some cakes that I had for a meal with him. I have had a friend here ever since. When I return he will start to bark, but the moment he realizes "the tourist has returned" he is just a kind dog. I didn't see him this time around, though.
Almost all houses (and many appliances) are completely made of wood, though most roofs are now covered with corrugated iron. But this drinking vessel, for public use at one of the many watering places, is plastic.
