Here youn see what can be done when restoration takes place. I enquired and was told that the house to the left had looked like the one to the right. In a way the construction becomes invisible, with the stone and wood elements and the repetitive patterns they may show. But the "new" one looks quite alright, and will stand for another hundred years or more.
