I was informed my original caption was wrong. I wrote
"In the little cubicles men will sit with typewriters, ready to type letters to the authorities in buildings like the one behind. Or to do some translating. Illiteracy still exists in Turkey, particularly amongst the elderly. The younger generation will not need these men, so it's a dying breed."
But I was informed "These men still exist all over Turkey and will so for many years. They are mainly situated next to court houses and are expert in the specific jargon of judiciary. Even highly literate men may seek their services for applying to courts."
I thank the commenter for correcting my misinterpretation.
