The Lycian sarcophagus is from the end of the 5th century BC. It seems to have been made by a sculptor from the Pelopennese but using the Lycian style.
Two centaurs fight Kaineus. He started life as a woman, but Poseidon changed him into a man, who kills lots of centaurs, himself being protected by his charmed skin. The centaurs drive him into the ground, beating him with an amphora and a big rock until he dies.
