Here you see, again coming down a hill to Yazilikaya, more of the lay of the land: the Hittite city lay partly at about the level olf the Bogazkale village, but the major buildings (and the important gates, like Lion's, Yer Kapi and King's gate) lie uphill. It is quite a walk - and a climb - if you want to see it all on foot.
