I like running water, so I took some shots of this fountain. The source of the water is never quite clear to me, I think nowadays a lot is from public waterworks, but sometimes I think it wells up in the mountains, is filtered in some sand, and then runs from a fountain like this. All over the country these "cesme"-s provide the thirsty traveller with nice, cool water. Sometimes water seems to be particularly good, dolmuses (minibuses) will stop and everyone will drink some of this "soguk su" (cold water; again the Turkish "striped g" cannot be written). Lots of small villages are called Soguksu too.
