Anthropomorphic vases

On the right: Vessel excavated in Hacılar (layer) II, and dated 5500-5200 BC (the second half of the 6th millennium BC is in Anatolia the beginning of the Chalcolithic era).
On the left: Burial gift. Found in a 8th century BC grave (Phrygian period) in the Bolu region.
This means that some 4500 years separate both specimen !

West-Anatolian potters continued the traditional style of making different types of cups using the female form. This type of cup is very widespread.
