I was informed this will be a king, maybe Gagik Artsruni, founder of the church, is enjoying the fruits of the vineyard of the Lord (paradise), while on the left a man is picking pommegranates (frequently represented in Armenian iconography), a symbol of eternity.

For a source Découvertes Gallimard n° 464, published 2005, Anne & Jean-Pierre Mahé (University level), L'Arménie à l'épreuve des siècles (Armenia facing the centuries) Pages 58-59 (with illlustration) was given.

I see I stand corrected for using the wrong interpretations. I indeed am not a Christian (though I think one can know a lot about religions and their symbols without being a member of the tribe). As for "Roman" versus "Greek", I use the term loosely for things stemming from the former Roman Empire (where several scripts and languages were used, depending on education and location). Can I read them? No. I know seven languages but Greek nor Roman are amongst them.
