On much earlier pictures I think I recognize the huge building we see here. But it had a patina that made it acceptable, though not nice. In 2019 it was, I think, being refurbished. I was immediately reminded of the Fawlty Towers quote "My God, you're ugly, aren't you?" (and later: "You need a plastic surgeon, dear, not a doctor."). In general the river is not a beauty, as are most of the buildings along its sides.
