Ekmekcizade Pasha medresesi. This medrese (close to the outer regions of the Şehzade complex) was built some time before his death in 1618 by Ekmekçizade Ahmet Paşa, son of an Edirne baker (ekmekçi, zade meaning son of), who became defterdar (First Lord of the Treasury) and Vezir, and died as one of the richest men in the empire. It is “well worth a visit” says the Strolling through Istanbul guidebook. I did not, being rather tired at the time.
