Colossal head of a Goddess (I earlier had her as the poetess Sappho). Roman, 2nd century AD from Smyrna (Izmir), 90 cm. in height. Inv 358. The type is known as “Sappho” (indeed) or, more commonly, as “Aphrodite”.
