One of a great number of pictures taken in the Yeni Büyük Han (Big New Han). When it was built in 1764 it was the new one on the block, nearby hans being older. And it is big, the second largest after the Valide Han. A construction in the middle dividers the courtyard of about a hundred meters into two parts. It was built by Sultan Mustafa III and is one of the best examples of the baroque han (says the Strolling Through Istanbul guidebook, I did not see baroque elements). I rambled around in the bui8lding, but I guess you'll "get the picture". In some cases gps will indicate where I was taking the picture (see View Map).
Note the barber in the right hand corner.
