This is one of a series of shots I took trying to climb up to the famed Heroon of Pericles. I knew it would be at about 213 meters from sea level, and when the only passable path that I found had led me up to 270 meters on my GPS I decided I'd overshot it. On my way down I found a ruined building, at about the right height, and when I later read that the 4th century BC heroon had been destroyed down to its base I thought I may have found it (but found it wanting in beauty). At any rate, the climb left me with a fine memory and some good shots of the surroundings. See my Antalya museum gallery for what's shown in the museum of the remains.
One of some shots of what well may have been the heroon, it looks plenty destroyed. Further on the meandering river and the sea.
