The aqueduct is the best preserved Roman aqueduct in Asia Minor, it brought water from the mountains in the north. At two points (I think we see just one) the pressure of the water was such that it raised the water in towers to a level 30 meters higher, from the top of which it flowed on.
In December 2012 I came close to one of the best preserved parts and took many pictures of this impressive structure.
