The Cardo Maximus, at its junction with the Decumanus Maximus (which lies to the left of this picture).
The Cardo runs in a straight line to the Nymphaeum, over a distance of some 410 m.
Cardo Maximus and Decumanus Maximus are the main streets in Roman cities and military camps.
The Cardo is north–south-oriented, the Decumanus east-west.
