New mosque: muvakkithane. Situated In the northeast corner of the courtyard of the mosque this building seems to be one of 38 such buildings from Ottoman times. Their purpose was to house instruments to decide on proper prayer time. It is octagonal in shape, made of cut stone. The upper cover is made of lead and has a single dome. Restored in 2007 by the General Directorate of Foundations.
