One of many pictures of the Hadrian's Gate. Hadrian visited the city in 130 AD together with his wife Sabine, in their honour this three-arched "gate" was erected. Hadrian made certain the town got a sound defensive system and turned it and the surrounding area into a province.
While the base of the northern tower (to the right of the gate) belongs to antiquity, the upper part is left over from the Turkish period.
