Cowry shells adorn these textile objects.

Hanging on the wall: decorative objects to hang in a tent. From (semi-)nomadic Türkmen or Yörük tribes. 19th or early 20th century. They may have a protecting function (amulet).
On the foreground: a triangular carrier bag, worn on the back (and fixed by two woven bands, crossed over the breast). They are/were used to carry all kinds of stuff, but also babies. From the same cultural origin, 20th century.

Correspondent: J.M.Criel, Antwerpen.
