Along the river

The River Porsuk runs, canalized, through the town. Along a large part of its inner city stream a (semi-) pedestrian area has been created, adorned with statues and fine bridges. In 2018 I walked that stretch once again and decided to give it a special sub-gallery, including earlier pictures.
As my Turkish is better than when I started the main gallery I took a look at some of the comments in that language, and found some people were very much opposed to the many statues that I praised. There now seemed to be even more, a pity for those commentators. I still think that, though the whole country is being overrun by all sorts of statues in public areas, the ones in Eskişehir are special and often more fun. The contribution by some graffiti “artist” I find more dubious. And I hardly show the many terraces, restaurants, teahouses, street artists and all that, they certainly contribute to the relaxed atmosphere, but being from Amsterdam I have my belly full of those.
