Plains and snow capped Hakusan Mountains seen while traveling from Kanazawa to the Kutani Pottery Village in Nomi-shi

Hakusan (meaning white mountain) is the group name for a number of sacred Japanese mountains. There are three peaks here which generally are referred to as Hakusan. The peaks are about 8,000 feet high. Hakusan is the site of a park for hiking and an active volcano which last erupted in the 1650's.
