pretty flower, nasty weed

This is Rubbervine (Cryptostegia grandiflora), and it is probably the worst environmental weed in the drier savannas of north Queensland.
Native to Madagascar, it has invaded streamside vegetation where it grows as a robust woody vine to 30 m that smothers riverside trees by cutting off their access to light - see next photo.

I have just answered my own question from my comment on the previous shot. Not a native plant. But what gorgeous flowers it has! Too bad it is so aggressive. V
