Planted out just 12 months ago, this specimen powered through our harder-than-average dry season and, when the rains finally came about three weeks ago, promptly covered itself with new growth and flowers.
I grew this from seed collected in the drier country a few kilometres west of here.
As with so many wattles, the foliage are not leaves, but rather flattened leaf stalks. This is assumed to be an adaptation to drought tolerance.
