I am looking for a picture of my grandfather, C.F (Caesar Franklin) Cagle, who would have been in the Class approx. 1930-32???? He was a Letterman in 4 different sports. Just learned this over Thanksgiving. My mom remembers a picture in the year book of him with his Letterman sweater on with all his accomplishments on and always wanted to keep that yearbook, but unfortunately didnt. Am looking to see if anyone knows of him or has a yearbook that can find this picture for me to get a copy of for her. Would mean the world to her. MANY THANKS in advance. I am looking for photo of the shopping center located at 12 ave between 49 and 50 St originally named Pagoda Shopping Center my parents bought their first unit there (5024) in 1969 from Fenton Ewing (Marta his secretary and sister in law dealt with us, also looking for her) for a boutique called YoHer Fashions. Later they bought 2 more (5018 and 5006-12) Also looking for another property located at 2350 Palm Ave Homestretch Motel also owned by my parents. Please contact Sailly Hernandez sailly@aol.com

This is the obituary for Mr. FENTON C. EWING, a long-time Hialeah real estate broker who moved to Hialeah in 1924 and passed away in December 2011 at the age of 94. He brokered the sale of the White Belt Dairy section that is now the Palm Springs / Palm Springs Mile area of Hialeah and developed the Flamingo Shopping Center in east Hialeah and Westland Mall on W. 49th Street. + + + + + FENTON C. EWING OBITUARY + + + + + EWING, FENTON C., son of Harry T. and Helen Ewing, passed away in Homestead at age 94. Born in New York City on July 17, 1917, his mother died in 1918 and he moved to Hialeah to be with his father at age 7. A graduate of Miami Edison High School, he served in the US Army in the European theater during WWII returning as a First Lieutenant. After honorable discharge, he pursued a career with National Cash Register Company. In the early 1950's, he followed his father into the real estate field. As a real estate broker, he specialized in commercial sales/development in the Hialeah and Miami Springs area. He developed Hialeah's first modern shopping center (Flamingo Plaza) and the first enclosed mall (Westland Mall). Mr. Ewing brokered the sale of White Belt Dairy in west Hialeah and developed the property into the Palm Springs Mile/Westland shopping and residential successes they are today. In addition, he was primarily responsible for the creation and development of Vista Memorial Gardens cemetery in Miami Lakes where he himself will be laid to rest in a private family ceremony. After retiring from real estate, Mr. Ewing became a world traveler captaining his own yachts, one as large as 123 ft. staffed with crew members from throughout the world. After sailing adventures which included exploring many countries on most of the continents and islands, he established a home base in Costa Rica for 10 years before returning to Miami and finally to the Homestead area. He is survived by his wife Maria, daughters Barbara Wood and Lisa Ewing, sons Bruce Ewing, Donald Ewing and Richard Ewing, grandchildren Steven Wood, Randal Wood, Joanna Ewing, and Harrison Ward, great grandchildren Kyle, Jordan, Chandler, Taylor and Hailey. However, I believe you can order an 8x10" print from them which you could scan and enlarge to make a really decent large print. Hi, It was great finding your site. I currently own and ive at the H.R. Howell home (2 Circle Drive), of which you have a very nice photo in your gallery. We had seen old photos of the house, but never one that showed it at was originally built. We love it!!! Is there some way we could get copy with fairly good resolution?
