The building portion that was later a liquor store still remains today. The doors to the right with the circular portion on top.

We'd go when my grandfather would visit. Last time was 74 maybe?
Seemed like it was on the outskirts of town when I was a kid.
I've driven past it so many times and never knew it was there.

This is sad to see.

I could not agree more with the way this City handles a lot of things, not to mention this special place. Not only was the Bottle Cap Inn historical, it was rich with history and had over 1 million bottle caps not only nailed in the walls, but everywhere else too. These bottle caps alone would be worth big bucks now, and word had it that veterans from I think WW1 helped build this, as it was therapeutic for them. This restaurant was one of a kind and unfortunately, now only a memory. Great food, great memories - nothing like the good old days.

One thing that really aggravates me as a Miami native is the way Miami (Like Vegas) has no care in the world for its historical landmarks. I understand demographics change and Hatian immigrants are probably not interested in the story of the BottleCap Inn and 1950s Miami..but the local County government and municpalities don't have a care in the world either and that hurts the most.

Went to whatever it had become in 1980. It was a world class dive at that point.

I would have paid dearly for one of those chairs or stools.

OMG! The Bottlecap was blocks from our home and our dad's favorite watering hole. We spent lots of time there as kids. They had pretty good food too, it wasn't just a bar.

Wow. That is sad. I remember riding by this place with my dad on numerous occassions in the 70's, We used to go to a small seafood restaurant called Mr. C's on 119th.

This really makes one think 'what became of all the interior features of the Bottle Cap Inn'?
Sometimes progress seems to move backwards. It's a sad comment on current day Miami.

Why would someone take a famous history building like that and ruin it? Tearing up one of Miami's landmarks and turning it into a boring, disgusting building is a crime. This makes me sick to my stomach.

This is too sad for words!!!
