Currently, there is a Chuck Wagon Restaurant on the spot, and it very well be the same building, with modifications. It looks about the same size, minus the "thing" on the top.

When I first moved to Miami in 1956 this building was the Longhorn Drive-In Resturant. It was the first time I had a foot-long hot dog and a toasted bun. They were the best. This resturant also sponsored my first Tropical Park Khoury League team in the summer of 1957. Great memories...

Did this used to be the 'Gypsy's Pub' restaurant also?
Worked there as a teen as a dish washer.
They had the best garlic bread I've ever had before or since.

Brings back memories. My Uncle Henry and Aunt Rose owned this resturant after the Candelight Inn in the Grove with my father -Albert. As a little kid 10yrs old and my father passing in 1969 my Uncle and Aunt let be bus tables for a few dollars there and it was fun. Well..at least until the county came in and saw me..that was the end of that fun. I remember the huge piles of shrimp in the kitchen that the workers were cleaning and what a great bunch of people. Well its now 2009 and I'm 47, but remember like it was yesterday.

I so remember Granada's as I lived right behind it. You can see my house behind the corner of the building. I also remember all those resturants on Bird Rd. Boy, those were the days. Ialso remember the Royal Castle on Bird & 87 Ave as I went there alot when I was a kid.

The same owner had a second location at about 49th. Ave and the Trail. Used to eat there a lot. Very good.

This is the same building that was the "Salad Bowl" in 1965. My family lived off Bird and 67the Avenue and when there was some extra cash, we splurged and went out to dinner here...later it became and all you can eat, which made my parents very happy as there were three of us kids and they were on a tight budget!
