1964 - the Hideaway Bar at 2214 NW 79 Street, Miami

2210-12-14 NW 79th Street, Miami, Florida

Didn't the Hideaway bar move further westward on NW 79th Street closer to Hialeah or in Hialeah, or is my memory screwed up?

In the late 50's and 60's the Hideaway was a great country western bar with some great music. Johnny Cash showed up there one night and performed. My nickname was Porkey, but no relation to the owners; although me and my brothers hungout there a lot. Later, it became a strip joint.

Another lost landmark. According to maps.google.com, this site is now a gas station.

There was the Harmony Hideaway Lounge on east 10th avenue and 49th street in Hialeah right near the 103rd street bridge. I uh hum accidently went in there several times in the 70's :) it was a topless bar. I don't know if this is the same bar that moved or if they were just two different bars altogether.
