My great-grandfather built and partly owned Musa Isle. His name was Dennis Collins Allen. He was a contractor and built many famous buildings in Georgia. I never saw Musa Isle, as I was born in 1932, but have heard lots of stories bout it. I would love to have all the pictures I can find of Musa Isle. All the family are gone now and I am elderly too, but growing up in Miami, I had lots of fun riding the street car to town, going to the beaches, and to Matheson Hammock. I remember riding the elevator in Burdine's - what fun! I remember my grandfather James Buren Baker, Sr. taking me to town and we drank pineapple juice with coconut all frothed up - in one of the little shops.
My grandparents surnamed Baker, lost everything in the Big Crash. They owned a fairly large wooden house
and had to rent out rooms. I remember a tall coconut palm crashing into the roof of the house during one of the big hurricanes in the 1930's. I moved away with my family when I was 12 years old, but remember the schools and places I lived.

I keep hoping that I will awake and be in old Florida. I do not like Florida for what it is, but I love what it used to be, and hope to awake from the nightmare that it has become today.
