Guest: thank you for the information that you provided about the buildings. The hangar in the foreground was leased by Airlift when I got on with the airport in 1974 and it mysteriously burned up in the night years later. It would have cost a fortune to demo it because of the asbestos in it.

Fantastic shot. This is the old MIAD section of the airport. Believe the maintenance hanger on the apron is that of Riddle Airlines. Their cargo terminal is just out of the picture to the left (south) of the mtx. hanger with a full wraparound ramp area. To the left of Bldg. 145 at the far end (west) is the two story AAF Command Headquarters Building (U shape) which Riddle, later Airlift International, had moved into some time after WWII. Worked there for a number of years. What a great old office building. Spacious, wood paneling everywhere, windows galore - the best for the Army Air Corps' brass.

My father worked in Building 120. He started with PanAm during WWII and retired in the 1970s. What a great company to work for back then.
