From the state archives: "Most of the air traffic handled at Miami International Airport for two decades sifted through this 36th Street terminal which grew from Pan American Airways' first Miami hangar, built in 1928. Although the hangar still is the basic part of the structure it is hardly discernible due to many additions. The terminal, all but abandoned with the opening of the airport's multi-million dollar terminal three years ago, is being demolished to make way for Pan American's million expansion program."
