Pan American Field, Miami, Florida

The previous date of 23-MAR-1940 was from the Florida State Archives and obviously incorrect as pointed out by Mark Lincoln. Thanks Mark!

Thank you for the correction, Mark. I have changed it to "early 1930's" as per your information.

Further research has revealed that the last Pan Am's operated Fokker F-10A, NC 9701, was scrapped in May 1933. The other 11 had been written off or assigned to Pan Am owned airlines such as Boston-Maine Airways, Aerovias Centrales, and Compania Mexicana de Aviacion by that time. NC813H, the last Pan Am subsidiary operated Fokker F-10A was Compania Mexicana de Aviacion's, X-ABCT. It was retired in 1935. One of the Pan Am Fokker F-10A, X-ABCR operated by Compania Mexicana de Aviacion crashed at Miami, Florida on 7 August 1931.

The photo could not be from 1940. Pan Am retired the Fokker F-10A in 1935.
