As the yeoman striker on the station I stood radio, phone and teletype watches all day during the week except for lunch and other breaks when relieved. Liberty was port and starboard so that meant at least one 4-hour watch every other night and 4-hour watches a couple of times a day every other weekend, in addition to being assigned to rescue boat seaman duties, and liberty boat coxswain duties, when on duty.
CWO4 Rex W. Coulson was our Commanding Officer and he was a great officer. I can't remember our Chief's name because he was in rehab most of the time I was stationed there. BM1 Bill Abney (now deceased) was acting XPO during the chief's absence.
