1999 - Lonny Craven and Don Boyd on American Airlines new B777-223 N770AN

Miami International Airport

Checking out the first class seats on the first American B777 to visit MIA on a familiarization tour before the start of scheduled service. The aircraft had flown from Dallas-Ft. Worth via the Spruce Creek private airport up near Daytona Beach where it did a low fly-by and a controversy over that low fly-by was in news reports years later.

other sizes: small medium original auto

I don't know if those lie-flat seats were ever replaced or not because AA still has first class on their flights, Ray. But I know what you mean about jamming more seats in the coach section because B747's, DC-10's and L1011's used to be spacious as hell in the back when they first came out but that didn't last long.

So... how many weeks before these great seats were replaced by at last 12 regular seats? It drives me nuts how every airline and plane manufacturer shows awesome accommodation's on a new jet, but in reality its just more space to put the steerage class seats.
