Despite growing up in Miami, this was my first time waterskiing and I managed to stay up out of fear of falling into the really frigid water of Upper Rideau Lake (often called "Little Rideau Lake"). At the end of the skiing I let go of the rope hoping I could ski up to the dock and flip myself around onto the dock without getting too wet. I was lucky and it worked out quite well especially for the first time waterskiing.

The closest town was Crosby as I recall and it was 7 or 8 miles away on a winding hilly gravel road along the lake.
