November 1963 - Eastern Air Lines gets their first jet bridge on Concourse 5 (now D) at Miami International Airport

Concourse 5, Miami International Airport, Florida

Thank you to Robyn Noelle for posting this image on Facebook. The new jet bridge was part of a $1.2 million renovation of Concourse 5 where Eastern had a long-term lease with the Dade County Port Authority. That was back in the day when a million dollars bought substantially more than just a bathroom or two in today's dollars.

Delta Air Lines already had their first jet bridge on Concourse 1 (now H).

Concourse 4 (now E), MIA's only international concourse, is in the background.
