We lucked out and were assigned to a room one floor below the top floor and on the right side of the wing on the right side facing the Hilton Hawaiian Village and one room in from the oceanfront room next to us.

The Hale Koa Hotel is an Armed Forces Recreation Center owned by the Department of Defense and located on 72 beautifully landscaped acres at Ft. DeRussy military reservation on Waikiki Beach. The hotel is self-sustaining. We experienced superb, and very reasonably priced food in their restaurants and having a base exchange on the ground floor saved us a ton of money for snacks, drinks, and other beach necessities.
