A procession of Bishops leaving St. Mary's Cathedral during installation ceremonies for Bishop Coleman F. Carroll, selected to head the new Diocese of Miami. Prior to this the Diocese of St. Augustine covered the state of Florida. The new St. Mary's Catholic Church, later Cathedral, was finished and dedicated January 27, 1957 while I was in 4th grade at St. Mary's School across the street. I served as an altar boy for some of the services while it was a church and had moved to Hialeah in June 1957 before St. Mary's became a Cathedral. I also received my First Communion and Confirmation at St. Mary's so I got to sit out the confirmation process at Immaculate Conception School in 5th grade.
