Thank you to Russ Schneider, a classmate of Mickey's, for sending me her class photo from the Miami High Class of 1955 yearbook. Ann "Mickey" Jones Baisden was my friend who went back the furthest in time with me at the time of her death. I knew her back to either 1952 when I was 5 and she was 15.
She was the daughter of Herbert S. and Estelle "Bubbles" Robinson Jones and born in Miami on August 4, 1937. She grew up at 300 NW 18th Avenue in Miami on a large double lot full of orange and grapefruit trees with room to park up to 45 cars during Orange Bowl games. She was a Miami High Stingaree, graduating in the Miami High School Class of 1955. I went on many fishing trips with Mickey, her husband and her parents out in the Atlantic from Miami and out in to the Gulf of Mexico after they moved their boat to Islamorada. She passed away on August 15, 2008 in Young Harris, Georgia.
The Jones family and my family were good friends from the early 1950's until deaths separated everyone in the mid 1970's through the 1990's. I last saw Mickey in 1999 when she flew down to Miami from Georgia when my Aunt Norma passed away. Norma and Mickey were close friends for many many years. RIP Mickey, thank you for your friendship over many years.
