This looks to have been across from the old Miami Wax Museum (and that altered structure still stands). Maybe where KFC is, now?

Jeff, something doesn't jive and I'm surprised it didn't jump out at you like it did to me. If Junior was born in 1938, how did he serve in the military during WW II? He would have been 3 years old when war broke out and 7 years old when the war ended.

So... I got a little curious about this location, and I Googled Mr. Cius.

He was born in 1911, Died in 1984 and is buried in Southern Memorial Park in North Miami. His wife preceded him in death in 1975.

His son, Anthony B. Cius, Jr. was born March 11, 1938 in Buffalo, NY on (hence the "buffalo" name of his father's bar) and died on May 1, 1986 and is buried in San Francisco.

The younger Mr. Cius excelled in music. According to the University of Kansas School of Music, there is an award in his honor.

Quoted from their web page about the award:

"Anthony B. Cius, Jr. was born in 1938 in Buffalo, NY. He studied piano, percussion, and music theory as well as composition and was an accomplished pianist and conductor. He received his Masters and Doctoral degrees from the University of Kansas under the tutelage of Edward Mattila and John Pozdro (both now professors emeritus) where he distinguished himself as an outstanding student and composer. He also studied abroad in England, Japan, and the U.S.S.R.

After his untimely death in 1987, a friend who met Dr. Cius when they served in the military during WWII established the Anthony B. Cius Memorial Award which has become a University of Kansas tradition to honor an outstanding student composer each year. Three years later in 1990, the Student Composer Support Fund was established."

Unfortunately, the only information I could find about the sernior Mr. Cius were his birth and death years.
