McDonald's, the first one in California in 1940

San Bernardino, California

Mac and Dick McDonald opened their first drive-in barbecue restaurant at the corner of Fourteenth and E Streets in San Bernardino, California. It was a typical drive-in with a large menu and car hops. French fries and triple thick milkshakes debuted in 1949.
